About Sole Cycling

Sole Cycling was founded in 2007, by a lifelong cycling fan keen to share the love.

It’s tough to pin down exactly ‘what’ we do, we work on the ethos that we want to help people to live more active lives, to learn from experiences and to develop a lifelong love of the great outdoors.

With that in mind we have worked tirelessly around the country, developing new programmes and winning awards, all while delivering cycling activities to thousands of children and their families.

We have worked with Avon and Somerset Police to deliver activities in schools and community settings to thousands of families. We have worked with the Charity Streetgames to develop an award winning programme aimed at educating Young People to the dangers of playing near railways and offering them positive activities to do instead. We have worked with Network Rail, developing a national scheme to promote positive activity and prevent anti-social behaviour near Railway lines, for which they gave us their National Community Partner of the Year award in 2012 awarded to us by Kevin Keegan at a gala dinner, after giving us a recognition award in 2010 and 2011.

We have developed several cycle clubs, one of which has been continuously running since 2007, giving children and their families a weekly Mountainbike ride at Ashton Court in Bristol.

Marc Molloy is a coach, public speaker and cycling enthusiast.

A former Local Authority Sports Development Officer and Princes Trust Team Leader, he decided to set up a programme that would support young people who wanted to learn a new skill and get out in the fresh air, by combining this with his own passion for cycling he developed several programmes targeting people of all abilities to engage them in cycling related activities.

Alongside winning national awards for his work delivering community based programmes, Marc still managed to stay competitive at Triathlon, winning regional events and qualifying to race at the Age Group Cross Triathlon World Championships in Germany and the European Championships in Holland and Germany.

Now Marc is a proud husband and Father of 2 wonderful children who are starting their own sporting adventures so he has to work hard to ensure that he continues to develop new programmes, deliver coaching sessions and fit in his own training all while spending as much time as he can with them. His current target is to qualify for the World Cross Triathlon Championships in Almere in 2020 and to race at the Trans Alba non-stop bike race around Scotland.

He is passionate about helping other people to lead active lifestyles and as well as delivering Healthy Lifestyles seminars at schools around Bristol, he works with corporate clients to increase their activity levels and help them to enjoy being involved in sporting endeavours at all levels.

He is also a passionate and interesting public speaker, delivering motivational talks based on his own adventures and achievements, encouraging others to be brave, start small and start planning their own events, however busy they might be, and helping them to realise that a life of adventure is possible, even with kids, jobs and all the other commitments we may have. His blog and podcast www.sportydaddy.co.uk is full of stories of trips, races and mini-adventures that should inspire and motivate, or simply just make you laugh and remember to enjoy yourself along the way.

We have been delivering Bikeability to schools since 2010, delivering around 2000 places per year, meaning thousands of people are now riding more safely on the road.

We also work with companies of all sizes to offer them advice on safe cycling to work and how they can create a more healthy workplace by introducing simple changes to their working habits, eating habits and giving them the chance to take part in trips and activities.

We have a fleet of smoothie bikes which we use at festivals, events, workplaces and schools to introduce healthy lifestyles activities and to get people moving, talking and thinking about making better food choices.

We run a comprehensive range of activities for adults who are looking to get into cycling. From absolute beginner courses, looking at getting riders to feel safe getting on the road, and supporting riders to take part in their first charity sportive or triathlon, right the way through to more serious riders who are looking for major gains in their riding, using Vo2 Max testing, Altitude Simulation training, Psychology workshops, Specific Gym training, Healthy eating seminars as well as a range of training camps and organised race trips with full professional support.

We also offer full support for events, with our team of experts on hand to provide commentary, coaching, activities for kids, logistical support as well as a team of ‘lead bike’ and bike support crew for sporting events of all sizes.

With a range of coaches in Cycling, Athletics and Triathlon, and top level equipment and facilities, we can offer support to both riders and events at all levels. Whatever your needs, give us a call and we will happily chat through your requirements and develop a plan tailored to you, your colleagues, friends or partners.
